Blaupause: Zukunftsmodelle der freien Szenen

IFM e.V. (Initiative Freie Musik, Köln) lädt ein zum Symposium - Dialoge, Vorträge, Keynotes

What is the future of art and culture in Cologne, in which processes and alliances dormant potentials and ideas can be revived - and why actually simple things are sometimes damn complicated. You can find the program here.

11am - 1pm Dialogue session: Cologne's glory days as inspiration - symbolic capital of the 1960s - 1990s.
Cologne was an international centre of attraction from the 1960s onwards, and between art and pop, Fluxus and electronic music, galleries, art spaces, adventurous radio and television stations and important print media, it was probably the most exciting art city in Germany. What can Cologne learn from these undisputed golden ages, where does heritage need to be cultivated, what can be productively translated into the present or the future?

11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Dialogue round: Learning from others - experiments, resonance spaces, subcultures
What framework conditions, attitudes and working methods promote the vitality, diversity and artistic power of independent scenes? The focus will be on questions of urban development and spaces, the prerequisites for self-empowerment and various forms of cooperation.

11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Dialogue round: Funding policy - perspectives, visions, setting the course
The crisis is here. And everyone knows it. The voices and experiences of the actors have to play an important role in shaping these challenges, real changes and development steps seem possible. What perspectives are emerging, what visions are there, what decisions need to be made?

2 - 3 p.m. Panel: Where to, Cologne? - Stopover
The panel will bring together important thoughts and interim results from the morning's dialogue rounds with ambassadors, and together we will continue to think.

4 - 6 p.m. Dialogue round: independent scenes - international actors
International networks are an important part of productive artistic and cultural work that enriches the city enormously. What could better support for these activities and networks look like, what resources are needed for this, what models within and outside institutional structures are conceivable?

16 - 18 h Dialogue Round: Cultural Spaces & Urban Development
Liveable urban space designed by citizens? How can the good intentions formulated in cultural development planning and election programmes be more effectively concretised, which projects currently urgently need support, which forms of participation and organisation promote a productive and reliable dialogue.

4 - 6 p.m. Dialogue round: Art and urban society / Social choreographies
The city is not only a playing field, but also an important object of contemporary art practice. The dialogue round focuses on the artistic view of urban society and thus opens up other perspectives on communication, interaction, coexistence and structures in the city.

18.30 - 20 h Panel: Where to, Cologne?
How do new, creative nuclei emerge? Ambassadors from the afternoon's dialogue rounds will bring together the most important results and attempt to formulate concrete visions and urgently needed steps for politics, administration and actors for a city of art and culture in Cologne that deserves its name again.
