European Jazz Conference 2026
From 24 to 27 September 2026, the 12th European Jazz Conference (EJC 2026) will take place in Cologne, marking the first time it is being held in Germany. The Stadtgarten Köln, together with the Cologne Jazzweek and the Monheim Triennale, will host this globally significant gathering for creative music, organized in collaboration with the Europe Jazz Network (EJN).
More than 200 member organizations of the EJN from 38 countries, along with additional international professionals, will come together at EJC 2026 to discuss—especially in these challenging times—the role of jazz and improvised music in fostering social dialogue, cultural innovation, and democratic resilience. The conference’s discussions and exchange formats are guided by the central theme “Who We Are, What We Stand For”, aiming to inspire the future direction of the scene.
An essential part of the event is a showcase festival, which is also open to the general public and will present some of the most exciting current voices in German jazz. The Stadtgarten Köln serves as the main venue for the musical program, with additional performances taking place at Loft and Sartory Säle.
