CANCELLED: Luke Sital-Singh
With the release of his Indie-Folk debut single "Fall For You" singer-songwriter LUKE SITAL- SINGH mixed up a complete genre in 2012.
According to The Guardian, when a song "brings life into a tired form" and promptly makes it into an episode of the award-winning US series Grey's Anatomy, then you know that this music goes deep into the heart and stays there for a long time. Streamed more than 120 million times, the British-born artist and his two albums, "The Fire Inside" and "Time Is A Riddle", have thrilled audiences over the years with their intimate, honest lyrics and dark, painful but also hopeful sounds.
With his third album "A Golden State" he is now opening a new chapter and at the same time he lets a new way of thinking come to light: "All in all there is this ethereal, positive mood - without being kitschy. This is also carried by the Americana fantasy of escaping to this beautiful place - but also by what I'm escaping from." Having moved from Bristol to Los Angeles with his wife, the desire for something new, but also the fear of change inspired him so much that he wrote an album about all the Californian dreams that were buzzing around in his head. The third single release "Los Angeles" - a song as warm and hazy as a morning in the big city - is not only a homage to his new centre of life. In the process of writing, it also served as a means and an end in order to finally make the final decision to throw one's life overboard and change continent. Although LUKE SITAL-SINGH describes himself as a pessimistic, fearful type, he has shown a lot of courage in his musical career so far: Performances as a special guest with bands like Villagers, The Staves, Martha Wainwright or Angus and Julia Stone made him travel around the globe. With "A Golden State" - his most difficult album so far - he now continues this journey.
