Acclaimed singer-songwriter Amos Lee today announces an international tour of the UK and EU. Lee will perform a career-spanning solo set to mark the 20th anniversary of his breakthrough self-titled debut. The exclusive presale starts on Wednesday, February 5th, 10:00 am via www.eventim.de, the official pre-sale starts on Friday, February 7th, 10:00 am.
In 2024 Lee was on tour with Willie Nelson and the Indigo Girls. He realizes that his attitude towards being surrounded by his peers and idols has changed over the years, and that this gratitude deeply informs the emotions on his latest studio album "Transmissions". Lee has toured with Norah Jones, Bob Dylan, Elvis Costello, Paul Simon, Merle Haggard, Van Morrison, John Prine, the Dave Matthews Band, Adele, the Zac Brown Band, Jack Johnson, David Gray and others.
"I'm grateful to be asked to share the stage with people I respect, admire and love and want to learn from and support. Now it's about really being present in the moment and knowing that it's not a given, none of it is destiny. It's opportunities that are given to you. So I'm making sure that I can really enjoy and appreciate all these opportunities."
With his latest album, "Transmissions," Lee expands his sonic range while sharpening his keenly observed lyrics that deal with death, aging and love. The Philadelphia, Pennsylvania-based artist has self-produced an album for the second time in his career (after 2013's Spirit) and returned to an old-school recording style. He worked with his longtime band in a studio in rural Marlboro, New York, that drummer Lee Falco and his father had built out of the wood of an old church. Lee and his fellow musicians played live on the floor for hours on end and were able to record the 12 songs on the album in less than a week. Despite the simple structure, Lee complemented his band's soulful folk-funk sound with arrangements that broaden the scope of songs like the autobiographical "Beautiful Day" and the upbeat, jam-driven "Darkest Places".
