In May this year Ari Lennox released her debut album "Shea Butter Baby" on J. Cole's own label Dreamville. It's the first release since their Dreamville debut "Pho Ep" from 2016, "Shea Butter Baby" is characterized by Aris soulful voice, driving soul and funk grooves as well as a unique storytelling. The RnB artist Dreamville's First Lady from Washington DC has every right to call herself. Juice Magazine calls her song "Up Late" feat. Masego "Sex for the Ears" and rightly so! Her voice is reminiscent of greats like Ella Fitzgerald, Erykah Badu, Whitney Houston or Lauryn HiIl. Through Aris sensitive voice and her unique neo-soul productions the singer gives her tracks an incredible warmth. Everyone who has listened attentively to J. Cole's album "4 Your Eyes Only" should have Lennox on screen thanks to their part in "Change". If you don't have the First Lady in a playlist yet, you have definitely missed something.
