Peter Evans "Being and Becoming"
When Peter Evans formed Being & Becoming in 2017, the New York trumpeter was still often experimenting with the various forms and possibilities of electro-acoustic music. But this quartet marks Evans' reorientation toward purely analog improvisational music. With vibraphonist Joel Ross, cellist and bassist Nicholas Joszwiak, and percussionist Savannah Harris, he has like-minded instrumentalists at his side whose sound aesthetic ideas are as uncompromising as Evans' own. Their aim is to develop an ad hoc vocabulary on stage with which they can speak their own language.

Angelika Niescier Quintett
Angelika Niescier is one of the outstanding musicians who have been redefining the contours of the European jazz scene for some time now - an artist on a mission, with boundless energy, a rich palette of colors and virtuoso technique. The internationally networked musician travels the world and performs her music at renowned festivals such as the Winter Jazzfest New York, unerhört! Zurich Jazz Festival or the Jazzfest Berlin. For the premiere of the Cologne Jazzweek she founded a new ensemble and unites strong voices of the European jazz scene.
