Bachelorkonzert: Simon Eckert Jazz Orchestra

The Simon Eckert Jazz Orchestra, an ensemble of students and already renowned jazz musicians, will perform for the first time, uniquely and probably only once, as part of trumpeter Simon Eckert's bachelor concert in the Stadtgarten.
Many sounds and styles from 100 years of jazz history will be heard on this special evening. Count Basie, Thad Jones, Bob Brookmeyer and many other well-known composers will be part of the program, which consists of pieces that have accompanied and inspired the trumpeter throughout his studies.

Simon Eckert is the lead trumpeter of the Bundeswehr Big Band and the Fuchsthone Orchestra.
Since October 2021 he has been studying trumpet (jazz/pop) at the Cologne University of Music and Dance with Prof. Andy Haderer and Matthias Bergmann.
He has already worked several times with renowned ensembles such as the WDR Big Band, the Glenn Miller Orchestra, the WDR Funkhaus Orchestra, as well as the Sunday Night Orchestra, the Cologne Contemporary Jazz Orchestra and the Subway Jazz Orchestra.
