Das Kondensat

Explorations into uncharted territory, entertaining explorations of new spaces without predictable improvisational methods, synthesis of analog and digital without narrow genre boundaries: that is "Das Kondensat". Saxophonist Gebhard Ullmann, bassist Oliver Potratz and drummer Eric Schaefer have been working for a long time on their fresh musical concept, in which man and machine enter into an unprecedented combination. Electronic means have equal status in the creation process of their straightforward pieces and do not serve as a flavor enhancer in the direction of a zeitgeist that no one could describe anyway. Rather, loops, samples and the entire machine park are an integral part of this well thought-out and spontaneous adventure playground. Each of the three participants has proven their prominent position within German jazz in various formations. But this is not about genres or the continuation of tradition. This is about something really new. Critics have heard "urban soundscapes", "dynamic progressions", "new musical possibilities", "the essence of contemporary music" or a provocative play with contradictions. The story of this very special band continues.
