Etran de L'Air

Etran de L'Aïr's new album was released this summer on the Sahel Sounds label (Mdou Moctar, Les Filles de Illighadad). In the circle of Agadez wedding bands, Etran de L'Aïr is the best known and longest playing group (for over 20 years), yet this is a band that has remained on the fringes of success. Unique among their Tuareg peers, Etran plays music that represents the various ethnicities of Agadez and present-day Niger,incorporating desert blues, Mande music and even soukouss into their guitar-heavy compositions. Following their first album "No. 1" in 2018, Sahel Sounds is releasing their second energetic album this summer.With this, they embark on their first European tour, made possible by the many voices of anticipation from various promoters who have been looking to present them live in Europe for some time.
