Jazz at JAKI: Mike Churilov 5tet feat. Seamus Blake

Guitarist Mike Churilov, a graduate of the Folkwang University of the Arts, inspired by guitar legends such as George Benson and Wes Montgomery, also developed his style under the mentorship of Rodney Jones and Peter Bernstein. He presents his quintet with Jerry Lu on piano and Niklas Walter on drums - a musical connection that has existed for many years.

The evening's special guest is the internationally renowned saxophonist Seamus Blake - an important voice on the modern jazz scene.

On bass will be Reggie Washington, known for his work with Roy Hargrove and Branford Marsalis, among others, as well as many other top international acts.

The evening's music is modern straight-ahead jazz: communicative, swinging and energetic. The program includes selected standards, own arrangements and some original compositions by the band.
