KAU Trio plus Streichquartett
Bachelorkonzert. Support: schlecht
The Brussels trio KAU will be releasing their new album "Unknown Waveforms" on 10.10.2025. Strings complement the sound for the first time - a Cologne quartet that will be on stage with KAU at JAKI for the first time this evening. The new sound is more open and direct. It is based on human connection, energy captured live and creative spontaneity. KAU thus creates his own interpretations of instrumental music, drawing heavily on jazz, hip-hop, classical and electronic influences.
As the opening act, the Cologne band schlecht will present their debut album "villa schlecht" for the first time in Cologne.
About KAU & Unknown Waveforms:
Founded in Brussels, the band KAU consists of German keyboardist Jan Janzen, Italian bassist Matteo Genovese and Norwegian drummer André Breidlid, all determined to free themselves from the shackles of the past and create pure, personal music. As a result, the trio creates a fast-paced, hypnotic syncretism of synthetic music, intoxicating melodies, electronic groove and witty beatmaking.
The title of their new album "Unknown Waveforms" is aptly chosen, as it embodies an immersion into the unknown. "Unknown Waveforms" is a sound film that deals with the connections between man and machine, the contrast between a bright future and the fear of darkness. An unbridled creativity that appeals to as many people as possible without denying its artistic aspirations.
Jan Janzen (piano, synthesizer), Matteo Genovese (bass), André Breidlid (drums), Katharina Koch (violin), Louise Ullrich (violin), Margarita Trofimov (viola), Muriel Bonn (cello)
