In August 1999 the very first KOMPAKT compilation was released under the title "Total 1". Since then, the annual, lovingly curated compilations of exclusive new tracks on vinyl as well as a best-of of the current label catalogue have defined the annual calendar like otherwise only carnival and Christmas.

Once always at the same time as Popkomm and later c/o pop festival, the late summer is traditionally the total season. And that also means It's party time. But the Stadtgarten with all 3 floors has proved to be the ideal location again, at the latest since last year's roaring 25th anniversary celebrations. With a colourful mix of label legends, fresh newcomers and artists who will perform for the very first time in Cologne and as part of Kompakt, a wonderful line up has once again been achieved.
