Le Pop La Série: Alexia Gredy
There is an exciting young chanson generation in France. Artists, especially female singers, with a fresh approach finding new melodies and contemporary sounds. Alexia Gredy is one of them. In her homeland, she is celebrated as a modern Françoise Hardy, and the name Marie Laforêt is often mentioned. Both comparisons have their justification - just because of Gredy's elegance and stylistic confidence. Vocally, she prefers a discreet emphasis to any expressiveness. A coolness that is fittingly carried by an electronic sound corset. Her first songs were produced by greats like Geoff Barrow (Portishead) and Baxter Dury. Their first LP "Hors saison" was arranged by Benjamin Lebeau (The Shoes). But the most important thing are the timeless pop songs from Alexia Gredy's pen, which, no matter if uptempo or slower numbers, always spread a glamorous magic. This is also the case with her single "Un peu plus souvent", which has found a wider audience thanks to the Netflix series "Heartstopper".
Tonight's concert is Alexia Gredy's first in Germany. After the show, the Le Pop DJ team will be spinning for the Christmas party.
Alexia Gredy (vocals, piano, guitar), Jean Poulhalec (bass), Antoine Cadot (drums)
