((( LIVESTREAM ))) Jam, Jazz, Beethoven

Would Beethoven have become a jazz musician if he'd had the choice at the time?

This is the question that the multiple award-winning bandleader Matthias Schriefl and his 9-piece multi-orchestra investigate. Schriefl refers to the young revolutionary who explored the limits of the piano in his improvisations. Another characteristic of Beethoven's music, unexpected repetitions, are taken ad absurdum. The musicians of that time can be compared to today's gala musicians. Stylistically, they could offer everything from sacred music to dance music on demand. The multi-orchestra brings this spirit to life in sophisticated grooves. The soloists of the band use Beethoven's motives for their own daring improvisations.

Beethoven's spirit is revolutionary enough to make jazz musicians sweat in fear even today.
