((( LIVESTREAM ))) NICA streams Herzog/Trumann & Debacker/Javaid

In January this year the monthly series NICA presents at the Jaki started. Due to the current situation the series cannot be continued for the time being. As long as this is the case, there will instead be "NICA streams" every Thursday, which will bring the artists of the free Cologne scene to life digitally, curated and filled by the NICA artists Elisabeth Coudoux, Pablo Giw, Pablo Held and Tamara Lukasheva.

The second edition also features two musically very different duos.
NICA Artist Tamara Lukasheva has invited the duo project of double bass player Florian Herzog and trombonist Janning Trumann. The two musicians merge jazz, free improvisation and their own, often very unusual ideas into a diversified organism of melody, sound and groove - in a very individual way.

From the collaboration of the Belgian pianist Marlies Debacker and the Czech-Pakistani saxophonist Salim Javaid, a duo music has emerged that draws formally and sonically much from contemporary music, but never loses sight of the flexibility and agility of jazz. Both musicians are members of the Cologne IMPAKT collective, which also includes NICA artist Elisabeth Coudoux, who invited the duo for this edition of NICA streams.
