"Fuck your Facts" Wie umgehen mit Verschwörungstheorien und Rechtspopulismus?

In the US, Trump supporters are invading the US Capitol. Last summer, protesters in Germany also attempted to invade the Reichstag during a demonstration against Corona policies. In both cases, supporters of right-wing and racist groups, as well as conspiracy theorists, were visible. German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier called the riots outside the Reichstag an "intolerable attack on the heart of our democracy." It seems more and more people are turning to groups that question our democratic institutions. Are democratic values being lost at the heart of our society, while violence is increasingly condoned?

The panel will discuss:

• Paulina Fröhlich, director of the Progressive Center's Future of Democracy program.

• Michael Butter, professor of American literature and cultural history at the University of Tübingen with a research focus in conspiracy theories

• Mona Neubaur, state chairwoman of the Green Party of North Rhine-Westphalia.

Nadine Michollek and Alexander Tietz-Latza will moderate.
