Cologne Jazzweek: Lord of The Amazing Panther

This four-piece with the strange name Lord Of The Amazing Panther is still considered an insider tip "straight outta Berlin". But that should change soon. This quartet is already made up of greats in their respective fields: Bassist Beat Halberschmidt is part of the Marsimoto and Marteria band and DJ Illvibe aka Vincent von Schlippenbach is part of the producer team The Krauts with guitarist Dirk Berger, who are responsible for Seeed, Peter Fox and Dendemann, among others, while drummer Roy Knauf sits on the stool for Marteria and Marsimoto, among others. As Lord Of The Amazing Panther, the four are now working on a shared musical vision. They play the beats with unconditional dedication, improvise with precise sound fetishism, make use of various aesthetic and stylistic influences and bring it all to the point in an unmistakable and uncompromising way: raw, electrifying and absolutely danceable.
