NICA live im GREEN ROOM und im Stream: Kristina Shamgunova/Jonas Kaltenbach & Akiko Ahrendt/Florian Zwißler
Since January, the four NICA Artists Elisabeth Coudoux, Pablo Giw, Pablo Held and Tamara Lukasheva have regularly presented musical ideas, visions, cooperations or discoveries under their names in the monthly concert series "NICA presents". We are very happy to continue the series as "NICA live" in the new open-air concert space GREEN ROOM in the back part of the outdoor restaurant of the Stadtgarten (the former "Al Bosco").
In addition, we will transfer the idea to the virtual concert room and launch "NICA streams ...", a new format that sees itself as the "ArtSalon" of the 21st century.
Kristina Shamgunova/Jonas Kaltenbach
Kristina Shamgunova and Jonas Kaltenbach want to send music that invites you to dream while listening to it. The alto saxophonist from Mannheim and the drummer from Cologne dare to try to present the American Songbook in a way that it starts to breathe again. In this first public musical encounter, they dedicate themselves in particular to the repertoire of Lee Konitz.
Akiko Ahrendt/Florian Zwißler
Akiko Ahrendt and Florian Zwißler have already played together in various formations.
Here they present a puristic duo set, in which, through the short circuit of violin and synthesizer
combine the long finished instrument and the one that will never be finished into a hybrid,
which vibrates strings and oscillators simultaneously.
