NICA live: Percussomnia feat. Gouffault, Philipp, Preisaitė, Wittbrodt

Percussomnia is an expansive electro-acoustic exploration of abstract polyrhythms. The ensemble creates a seamless fusion of tonal and percussive sounds, where the individual contributions come together to form an organic musical flow.

The project brings together musicians from Cologne and Copenhagen and operates at the interface of improvised music, contemporary sound art and electro-acoustic exploration. Originally founded as a duo for prepared piano and drums such as percussion, Percussomnia developed an intuitive rhythmic language that emerges from a multitude of percussive and polyphonic sound events. The format has since been expanded into a quartet: cello and electronics complement the original concept with dense textures, deep sub-bass frequencies and intertwining drone soundscapes. Together, the ensemble creates multi-layered sound spaces in which rhythm, resonance and timbre continually form new connections and condense into a dynamic, collective sound architecture.
