Paul Heller invites Julian & Roman Wasserfuhr

Jazz music fraternities have always existed and will continue to exist. And who could appreciate the joys of equal interests among siblings more than Paul Heller, himself part of a swingin' brotherhood (incidentally, brother Ingmar shares with him a passion for large-format ensembles under public law - one as saxophonist of the WDR Big Band, the other as bassist of the NDR Big Band). Usually both discovered more or less at the same time the pleasure of music and making music, later the pleasure of jazz, shared the stage together, at some point - striving to go their own ways - peacefully separated, only to reunite later for projects at short notice. However, only a few of these couples reveal such a strong will not to carry out professional cell division in the first place, but to shape their careers together in the long term. This alone makes it a special feature: the water supply from the Hückeswagen in the mountains.

In 2003, when Julian was only fifteen, the trumpeter was awarded the Soloist Prize at the national youth jazz competition Jugend jazzt - already then at his side was the pianist Roman, two years his senior. Still as teenagers, they made their debut and have proven to be inseparable to this day. Whoever assumes that every family get-together is all about jazz, jazz and more jazz - far from it: Julian and Roman not only provide for acoustic, no, also for physical well-being and brew their own beer together. Of course: a "jazz beer". "Schnaff" is the name of a Wasserfuhrsche word creation as a hissing alternative to "Prost" or "Cheers". By the way, their music has little to do with "beer jazz", the cheerful early pinting Dixieland. But they have culinary delights to offer in two respects.
