Perfektomat und der Retrogott

For Perfektomat and the Retrogod, both hip hop and jazz are an expression of a musical attitude whose greatest strength lies in its maximum openness to creative experimentation without blinkers. The band's signature sound is independent, rooted in the scene, ambitious and at the same time casually down-to-earth, born in the coordinate system between soulful bass, straight boom bap beats and playful funk. Added to this is the lyrical quality of Retrogott's lyrics, which need not be explained to anyone who has even a minimum knowledge of German spoken word beyond commercial clichés. It's about connection and the impossibility of it, about difference and similarity as two sides of the same coin. Following their debut Zeit Hat Uns, which caused a sensation in 2023, the band is presenting their new album, which will be released on November 7, 2025. It is entitled Notausgang des Abendlandes and will be released on ENTBS.
