Preisträgerkonzert Horst und Gretl Will-Stipendium für Jazz/Improvisierte Musik 2019
Horst and Gretl Will are both jazz fans and began to award the scholarship through their foundation in 1998. This year's winner is bassist David Helm.
From the reasons given by the jury of the Horst and Gretl Will Scholarship for their decision in favour of the prizewinner David Helm:
"David Helm can currently be heard in many different projects, in one of which he is not only bassist, but also singer, guitarist and pianist, and here he works with classical song forms. His versatility is one of the reasons for the jury's decision. But the most important thing is the impressive and spacious quality of his work."
David Helm presents an excerpt of his musical work here. He performs solo as well as with his band FOSTERCHILD.
