Rachel Eckroth Trio

The Rachel Eckroth Trio consists of pianist and composer Rachel Eckroth, bassist Emma Dayhuff and drummer Tina Raymond.
The trio focuses on Eckroth's own compositions and emphasizes modern jazz, with an emphasis on ensemble interaction and contemporary rhythmic ideas. In October 2025, the group released a five-track EP titled "This Is One Of Those Moments", which serves as a precursor to a full-length album to be released in late 2026.

Rachel Eckroth is a three-time Grammy-nominated pianist known for her work as a bandleader and collaborator in jazz, experimental music and popular genres. She has toured and recorded albums with St. Vincent, Chris Botti, Rufus Wainwright and members of David Bowie's Blackstar band. Her compositions for the trio are characterized by melodic themes, open harmonic spaces and room for collective improvisation.

Emma Dayhuff is an acoustic bassist with experience in straight-ahead jazz, avant-garde improvisation and interdisciplinary projects. She has worked with Nicole Mitchell, Jeff Parker, Vijay Iyer, Isaiah Collier and Tomeka Reid.

Tina Raymond is a Los Angeles-based drummer known for her clean, modern style. She has played and recorded with Eric Revis, Art Lande, Wayne Horvitz, Carmen Lundy and Bobby Bradford and is the Director of Jazz Studies at California State University Northridge.

The Rachel Eckroth Trio offers a contemporary interpretation of the piano-bass-drums format, characterized by strong compositions and responsive group improvisation.
