SONiQ meets Stefan Schönegg
For many years, the collective SONiQ - with saxophonist and clarinettist Christina Fuchs, pianist Jarry Singla and percussionist Ramesh Shotham - has stood for a creative dialog between cultures and sound worlds. Their music fuses jazz, classical elements and non-European traditions to create an extraordinary ensemble sound.
For this concert, the three musicians from Cologne are expanding their ensemble to include Stefan Schönegg. The bassist, improviser, composer and NICA artist 2023 is known for his subtle, contemplative sound language, in which jazz, new music and improvisation subtly intertwine. With a great sense of time and space, he opens up new listening perspectives - and enriches SONiQ's dialogical playing with a dimension that is as expressive as it is profound.
