From ecstatic moments to subtle sonic vibrations, from noise to experimental songs, from krautrock-inspired folk drone to theatrical electronic mutations: Three Skies opens a new chapter in the history of Cologne’s Night of Surprise, featuring new spaces and constellations where diverse musical genres, scenes, traditions, and ways of listening converge.
From the intimate, tradition-rooted Hardanger fiddle music of Benedicte Maurseth to the “spark” between contemporary percussion and complex spatial electronics in the work of Dirk Rothbrust and Jan St. Werner to Bobby Beethoven’s ballroom-inspired, deconstructed club music or Georg Vogel’s microtonal universe in 31 pitches: Three Skies invites you on an adventurous journey through sonic spaces, forms, and atmospheres.
