Tom-Tom Discotec presents: Tropical Sound Clash Vol. 2
Masala Movement vs. Femmetastique Dance Service
New late-night Saturdays at JAKI: Masala Movement and Femmetastique Dance Service meet at the second edition of Tom-Tom Discotec - two crews, two styles, one clash.
With Rubimental & Cheffe, Masala Movement is sending two of its DJs into the race. The sound is characterized by post-migrant communities, global club culture and hybrid beats.
The creative exchange with the Netherlands gave rise to Masala Movement NL, a community collective with over 70 members that connects Surinamese-Hindustani and other South Asian diaspora communities. Masala Movement is a non-profit organization that works transmedially and combines artistic forms of expression from music, film, dance, literature and visual arts. Its projects create spaces for dialog, collective creativity and cultural exchange. In addition to concerts and club formats, Masala Movement organizes community-oriented activities - from culinary gatherings to dance and sports formats - and thus promotes encounters across different backgrounds.
Femmetastique Dance Service, founded by Cologne-based DJ Suzana Dibrani, focuses on feminine energy, real vinyl and global grooves. Her sets combine 70s & 80s disco with Afro, Brazil, tropical, boogie and funk - decades and continents merge into an organic flow full of energy and diversity. Vinyls that breathe history and groove drive the beats that move bodies and open hearts.
Special guest IARA from Porto will accompany the night. The Brazilian DJ began her musical journey as a child and brings tropical sounds, boogie, funk and disco with rich instrumentals and groovy vibes.
A night full of global rhythms, female creativity and pure dance energy - Femmetastique Dance Service invites you to feel, celebrate and let go.
