The life of Uchenna Yara Katzmayr—or UCHE YARA for short—has revolved around music since her earliest childhood days. The Austrian artist with Nigerian roots began playing percussion at an early age, then moved on to the marimba, and later, as a teenager, learned to play the guitar. At 16, she wrote her first original songs. She is now considered perhaps the most innovative up-and-coming artist Austria has produced in decades.

Even before she released her first official single, she performed with Bilderbuch at the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg. In 2022, she will open for The Rolling Stones at Vienna’s Ernst Happel Stadium. But that’s not all: Parcels and Marc Rebillet are also fans of hers. None of this comes as much of a surprise. Once you’ve experienced the magic she unleashes all on her own on stage, you’re simply left in awe, thrilled, and completely captivated.

Her first release, “www she hot” (2023), generated a buzz that hasn’t died down to this day. With the EPs “GOLDEN DAYS” (2024) and “honey,” (2024) and her performance on A COLORS SHOW, she has proven all the doubters wrong and cemented her status as an absolutely exceptional talent.

Her debut album “BODYSCANNER” (2026) explores the tension between inner feelings and external perceptions that we all experience every day. Her eponymous European and UK tour in conjunction with the release of her debut album is eagerly anticipated by critics and fans alike and promises to be the latest testament to her musical genius.
