VERSCHOBEN: Paul Heller invites Federation of the Groove feat. Kim Sanders
Aufgrund der aktuellen Lage kann das Konzert leider nicht stattfinden und wird verschoben. Der Ersatztermin wird zeitnah bekannt gegeben.
People who like to have fun don't like to be alone. And if you want to have and make music fun, even less so. Maybe it's no coincidence that groove formations like to perform as a collective and give themselves band names that conjure up the commonality of their cause and at the same time indicate what the audience can expect: The Cologne Funkateers, Parliament/Funkadelic, Funk Unit, Soulcats, Groove Collective... And now, the Federation of the Groove, which provides pure fun(k) at the end of the eighth season of Paul Heller's series.
This federation of fun-loving people has been ensuring a good mood for several years - also repeatedly at Stadtgarten. Martin Sasse, one of the leading and busiest straight-ahead pianists (Gerd Dudek, Peter Bernstein, Scott Hamilton, Rick Margitza) changes here to organ and keyboards. Guitarist Bruno Müller (Maceo Parker, Till Brönner, Mezzoforte, Stefan Raab) is one of the internationally most sought-after experts for the infectious amalgam of (jazz) funk, soul and fusion. In the Champions League of Groove Masters, bassist Claus Fischer (Larry Carlton, Bill Evans, Hanno Busch, Heavytones) is also a top address not only here in Germany, when a crisp foundation is required. Hendrik Smock (Roachford, Flo Mega, Randy Brecker, Xaver Fischer) has been a member of the Martin Sasse Trio for a long time and is equally adept in jazz and groove music like few drummers.
If Paul Heller invites another guest in addition to the Federation of the Groove, then of course someone who fits seamlessly into the Federation of the Federated. The American singer Kim Sanders (Culture Beat, Schiller, Stefanie Heinzmann, Till Brönner, Wolfgang Haffner, Nicola Conte) has lived in Germany since 1989. Her album "A Closer Look" was awarded the German Record Critics' Prize in the "Black Music" category in 2010, and in 2012 she took second place in The Voice of Germany. The motto of the evening is clear: Let's move & groove with funk for fun!
Kim Sanders (voc), Paul Heller (tenor sax), Martin Sasse (keyboards), Bruno Müller (guitar), Claus Fischer (e-bass), Hendrik Smock (drums)
