Yoni Mayraz
The up-and-coming musician Yoni Mayraz combines jazz with elements of 90s hip-hop, old-school breakbeats and music from the Middle East to create dazzling new hybrid forms.
As a keyboardist and producer, Yoni entered the new jazz scene in 2020 with the EP "Rough Cuts" and introduced the world to his unique musical style. Since then, the London-based musician has collaborated with artists such as Ruby Rushton's Tenderlonious and dance legend El-B and released his critically acclaimed debut album Dybbuk Tse! on Astigmatic Records.
Dybbuk Tse! catapulted Mayraz to the forefront of the international jazz scene, selling thousands of physical copies worldwide, reaching millions of streams on digital platforms and being mentioned by media outlets such as KEXP, KCRW, BBC 6, Bandcamp Weekly and CLASH Mag.
Mayraz has toured extensively with his band, playing venues and festivals such as Montreux Jazz Festival, Jazz Cafe London, Brussels Jazz Festival, Ronnie Scott's London and many more.
Mayraz's new album Dogs Bark Babies Cry, due for release in the fall of 2025, explores fears and longings through musical expression. Backed by bassist Tom Driessler (Yussef Dayes, Adele) and drummer Zoe Pascal, the album showcases Yoni's distinctive, outward-looking approach to instrumental music, blending jazz elements with modern, experimental and electronic themes. The album features guest appearances from Fly Anakin Tenderlonious, Miriam Adefris and JSPHYNX.
