This duo has been a long time coming. After crossing paths at a workshop in Porto in 2011, Susana Santos Silva has been involved in several projects by Fred Frith. First in a quartet with Chris Cutler and Heike Liss in Zagreb; then as a soloist, together with Okkyung Lee, Lotte Anker and Christine Wodrascka, in TaTaTa with the Big Band of the Hessischer Rundfunk; and more recently on tour with the Fred Frith Trio and Heike Liss in Brazil, Europe and the USA. When the Météo Festival proposed the duo, it seemed a logical next step, and the Radio France recording of that first concert, later released on the Rogu'Art label, received rave reviews. This tour offers Fred and Susana the opportunity to further develop their deep bond and explore the infinite potential of a rather unusual instrumental lineup.
