Project manager for ‘NICA artist development’ programme

Since 2019, we have been running an excellence programme for musicians from North Rhine-Westphalia with support of the NRW state government. ‘NICA artist development’ offers outstanding musicians a platform for artistic profiling and professionalisation of their careers within the field of jazz and contemporary music. The programme, which is designed for a maximum of three years' participation, provides advice and support for artists during that critical phase after completion of their training in order to (further) develop their sustainable, international careers. The programme focusses on the promotion of performance opportunities, networking, and artistic development. We are looking for a chief project manager for the continued implementation of this project,
starting 1 April 2022.
- a university degree in the artistic field, and/or
- a comparable qualification acquired in practice;
- several years of professional experience in the field of jazz and contemporary music;
- in-depth knowledge of the relevant performance venues (and festivals) in Europe;
- access to a professional network of European stakeholders in this field of music;
- experience in project management and controlling as well as dealing with public funds;
- the ability to convince, to communicate and to network.
We offer a full-time position in accordance with the German collective labour contract TV-L
at the European Centre for Jazz and Contemporary Music based in Stadtgarten Cologne;
part-time is possible upon agreement.
