The Cologne duo Neuzeitliche Bodenbeläge around Niklas Wandt and Joshua Gottmanns is now well known to all lovers of electronic music in Cologne. To round off the first half of the year at JAKI, we are delighted to welcome them back. With their newly released EP Neulust in their luggage. Wandt's captivating voice evokes a sense of nostalgia, reminiscent of the time when Thorsten Fenslau was active and the tracks with poetic recitations. Wandt's drumming harmonizes perfectly with Gottmanns' warm chords and captivating melodies. Dealing with themes of love, alienation and consumerism, the EP blends haunting electro, deep house, NDW and Euro dance elements and represents a significant stylistic shift for the pair.
