Jazz at Green Room: Lennart Allkemper Quartett
With Billy Test on piano, Stefan Rey on bass and Niklas Walter on drums, the young Cologne saxophonist and composer Lennart Allkemper has found three excellent instrumentalists to breathe life into his latest compositions:
Unadorned, elegantly staged modern jazz, in which the roots of tradition spill out in colorful blooms in wide-ranging, warmly singing melodic arcs. The quartet inevitably grooves its way into the listener's head with strong melodies and guaranteed catchiness.
The debut album "Awakening" by the quartet led by bandleader Lennart Allkemper will be released in spring 2024 on the Hamburg label "Jazzline".
