Jazz at JAKI: Mia Gjakonovski

Mia Gjakonovski is a Berlin-based singer, composer and lyricist who never fails to inspire with her unique sound and personal lyrics. Captivated by music from an early age, she gained her first stage experience with various bands and discovered her passion for songwriting.
Mia now regularly composes for her various band projects. Her artistic work is influenced by a wide variety of genres. In the creative chaos of these continuously researching and searching musicians, the singer Mia transports her ideas and moods in her music, combining different elements such as rhythm, improvised melodies and words with classical song structures. In this way, she creates a cozy atmosphere, resulting in songs with sophisticated rhythms and catchy melodies, formed from acoustic and electronic instruments, vocal effects and the singer's warm, emphatic deep voice.
Mia Gjakonovski combines this world of sound with thought-provoking lyrics that leave room for the listener's own interpretations and dreams, and with the current project Mia meets fellow musicians who meet at eye level and develop their compositions in a very organic way. After working together in the studio, the four young musicians are now going on tour with fresh inspiration.
