Launched by Angelika Niescier, "winterjazz" has been celebrated since January 2012 as the music festival in, from, by and for Cologne, for aficionados, the curious, loyal and new audiences, by and for Cologne musicians.
Since then, we have always been overwhelmed by the response, by masses of listeners who have waited in long queues in high spirits every year, listening, applauding, talking to each other, laughing, celebrating the beginning of the year and music with us.
At the beginning of 2021 many things are still different, that's exactly why we make it very special! 10 guests from European neighbouring countries and across the republic are invited for January 8th and 9th to bring their music and perform with Cologne musicians in the livestream.
