Anette von Eichels "Belonging"
„Long Gone Lovers“
Belonging, in German simply Zugehörigkeit, is the name of the new, second production of the great quartet around Anette von Eichel with Sebastian Sternal on piano, Henning Sieverts on bass and Jonas Burgwinkel on drums. With seven original compositions by Anette von Eichel, Elton John's "Rocket Man" and the old jazz standard "A Time for Love", the four musicians:inside outline the questions of where we come from, what we want, it's about new beginnings, identity, departure and the question of where we belong. The great joy of playing and familiarity of the four musicians with each other and their wonderful, individual virtuosity immediately sweep the listeners away. The title of the new production Belonging stands not only for the themes of the song lyrics, but also for the way this band makes their music together. Von Eichel's unique sound and the great artistry with which she crafts melodies and lyrics are assets of the singer that sting here from the first note. Stylistically and aesthetically, the songs certainly expand in the direction of rock, singer/songwriter or pop - with jazz as the basis, of course, combining tradition and modernity. Let yourself fall and go along on this great, musical journey!
Anette von Eichel's new CD Belonging will be released in September 2023 by Double Moon/Challenge Records International (DMCHR 71435).
