Amistat: For love.
The love of life, of the world, is in the boys' blood. Born in Germany (the sons of a Czech and an Australian), Jan and Josef spent their youth in Italy, later moving to Melbourne. First because of love. Then they started their music career there as "Amistat". By the way, the name means friendship in Catalan. Friends, brothers - Josef and Jan are both. They are very different, but complement each other vocally and in their messages. It is also the connection with the audience or other musicians that makes Amistat so likeable.
And they openly reflect on what they've experienced and accomplished - and what they haven't. Live, you feel the Amistat magic the most. Performing alongside Australian band Sons of the East, Amistat played 49 shows in 15 countries over the course of eight weeks in 2019. Amistat's music is reminiscent of a modern version of cult folk duo Simon and Garfunkel. Josef and Jan were particularly influenced by artists such as Ben Howard, Kings of Convenience and Kodaline. With their debut album Parley, released in 2016, they toured Australia and Europe and caught the attention of singer Tash Tash.
the attention of singer Tash Sultana or the band Sheppard that they were immediately allowed to open their shows.
Their upcoming, fifth EP ' Still Alive ' is due out at the end of this year. "Still Alive " is Amistat's tribute to the world and to the love of moving on and remembering the good even in hard times . The brothers want to give space - to feel and to draw strength.
Support: JPson
Shaped by the two oceans on the shores of South Africa, JPson has ridden the wave of life to Europe and defined a musical style that can best be described as "Fresh Folk". Music that let’s you open up to the groove of the moment, whilst forgetting the troubles of daily life.
Having taught himself to play the guitar on the beaches of Cape Town, South Africa, JPson spent his youth surfing the Atlantic Ocean and exploring vast musical territory, yielding his very own sunbaked infusion of Folk & Roots music. Through his lyrics JPson shares the essence of life that drives him around the world and the lessons he learns whilst traveling. Not only is his music incredibly uplifting but his rhythms and beats will get you grooving in a festive and unifying spirit, bound to inspire reflection and new connection.
