Jimi Hendrix, Frank Zappa, John Scofield and Mike Stern are the icons of the guitar of the last decades. The Cologne Contemporary Jazz Orchestra dedicates an entire concert evening to them. It will be especially exciting to see how the CCJO manages to translate the energy and sound of these guitar heroes with the big band. Therefore the arranger Marko Lackner has arranged some guitar originals especially for this concert. Als special guest and reinforcement, the CCJO also welcomes the renowned Leipzig guitarist Werner Neumann, who has already worked with jazz greats such as Richie Beirach, Adam Nussbaum or the WDR Big Band, is a member of the Heavytones and has also become known with his own formations such as Drei vom Rhein or Mean.
