Cologne Music Week: SWEED & Lawn Chair

SWEED
Stuttgart newcomer SWEED writes indie anthems reminiscent of Sam Fender, the Giant Rooks or the Mighty Oaks, driven by the will to break out. After releasing singles like "Stuck", a "spring anthem despite identity crisis" (Untoldency), now comes the full energetic EP "Sweedlife" on September 2, 2022.

SWEED is rough, has rough edges, thinks minimalist. His sound combines modern pop elements with a touch of funk. His distinctive smoky voice seems warm and familiar, at the same time SWEED radiates something aloof. At the same time he is genuine, everything happens organically, in a charming DIY attitude, in collaboration with the people who surround him.

Lawn Chair
Lawn Chair immerses the German suburbs in the glistening light of the American landscapes. One part of the band spent its childhood in these same suburbs, the other in a fishing boat on the seas of Alaska. The band's sound is yearning, danceable, over the top, twisted, amorous, raw, scrappy, classic post rock, punk.... Pixies, Beck, Karen O can be found in the songwriting. The 2022 EP "LAWN CHAIR" discusses everything Claudia, singer and songwriter, has encountered so far. Strange guys, crooked thoughts, love and other distressing subjects.
