Florian Christl & Ensemble
His passionate playing and his equally exciting as well as deeply moving compositional style show Florian Christl's all-encompassing love for music. The mix of sometimes soothing, sometimes powerful piano playing combined with exceptionally imaginative and poignant string arrangements makes the music of this Munich-based composer and pianist unique in a very special way. His music speaks radically emotionally to our innermost being, making his concerts an extremely stirring as well as sustainably moving experience.
Improvisation is his most important creative method. For Florian Christl, composing is a deeply personal, almost intimate process in which he remains alone with his music and his thoughts. The goal is to create a space that can be experienced individually; a place where, for a short time, it is only a matter of "escaping reality to feel alive, immersed in thought."
With his debut album Inspiration, Florian Christl immediately entered the global classical music top lists of various streaming platforms in 2018 and reached the top 20 of the German classical music charts. Since then, he has been thrilling audiences on international tours. His second album Episodes was released in the summer of 2020 and includes the track "Vivaldi Variation," which has been streamed millions of times worldwide. With About Time Florian Christl released his third album on Sony Classical in the fall of 2022, which he presents live to the audience in his current program, along with a selection of his best works.
