On the second festival day of "Houbara - Resonances", we are showing three short films by Iranian filmmakers. Poetic, touching and experimental, they are dedicated to personal stories in different ways. The common thread is a playful approach to imitation and sound. Co-curator of the film screening as part of Houbara - Resonances Iran is Sara Yussefi Marzi.

Anahita Ghazvinizadeh is an Iranian filmmaker and author. Her short and feature films have been screened and awarded worldwide, including the short film NEEDLE, which won the First Cinéfondation Award at the Cannes Film Festival and the Silver Hugo at the Chicago International Film Festival, and her feature debut THEY, which premiered in the official selection of the Cannes Film Festival and was screened at the BFI Flare and the Busan International Film Festival, among others. Anahita is currently an Assistant Professor of Film and Video Production and Director of the Film and Video Production Program at the University of Iowa.

An eight-year-old boy named Pouya is doing his homework and his aunt Eli is helping him. Suddenly, Pouya is no longer there and Eli finds him hiding under the bed. She finds out that Pouya has panicked because of a big problem: he doesn't remember his deceased mother's voice.
Payvand Eghtesadi was born in Tehran in 1996. She graduated in film editing from Tehran University of Arts. Eghtesadi has edited 30 short films and one feature film. She has also been teaching young people filmmaking since 2018. "Dissociation" is her first film as a director.
