Jazz at Green Room: Lisa Wulff Trio

Bassist Lisa Wulff from Hamburg comes to Cologne together with saxophonist Adrian Hanack and Silvan Strauß on drums. The band leader's strong-willed compositions, which are open in many directions, will be played: Classical pieces are as much a part of the band's repertoire as free, spherical improvisations, groove and swing.

The three musicians know each other from the context of various other formations - from duo to big band - and form, shaped by the long-lasting joint playing experience, a strong unity, which makes the confidence in each other audible in the band and on the basis of this experimental risk-taking is possible.

Born in 1990, Lisa Wulff, who studied bass at the Musikhochschule Bremen and Hamburg with Detlev Beier and Lucas Lindholm, was the winner of the IBSH JazzAward in 2016, was nominated for the Echo Jazz in 2017 with her quartet album 'Encounters' and was awarded the Hamburg Jazz Prize in 2019. In addition to her own bands and projects, Lisa Wulff can be heard regularly on electric bass as well as double bass with the NDR Bigband and tours nationally and internationally with renowned musicians.
