JAZZ at GREEN ROOM: NIAQUE
Premiere in the GREEN ROOM: The concert will take place in the new open-air concert room in the back of the outdoor restaurant of the Stadtgarten (the former "Al Bosco").
Stefan Karl Schmid (sax) and Philipp Brämswig (git) have been continuously pursuing a common musical vision for several years now, which they realize with bite and verve in various projects. Already at their first musical meeting in 2006 they felt the enormous potential and finally, after various stations spread over the globe, they came together in a "working band" in Cologne.
In 2015 their first album "Anima" was released, which was highly praised by the trade press. The highly anticipated successor "Awake" will follow in autumn 2019.
Coming from contemporary jazz, her playing is characterized by technical virtuosity, extraordinary sensitivity and sensual power. The clear, vocal themes of her compositions are counteracted by rhythmically ever surprising movements and flow naturally into extensive improvisations. The congenial partners David Helm (bass) and Fabian Arends (drums) have a decisive influence, their vibrant interaction captivates and allows the listener to become part of the magic of the moment.
