After his big band outing Hive Mind (2018), Benjamin Schäfer returns to the world of small groups with his eleventh album. And how he does it! The unique line-up of his new quartet Stone Flowers unites three generations of exceptional musicians on their respective instruments. You are literally drawn into the fascinating sound world of the early 1970s. Schaefer's own compositions, based on natural phenomena and laws, add a timeless and organic quality to this sound world. Inspired by A.C. Jobim, Sergei Prokofiev and Mother Nature, works of enchanting beauty - and depressing topicality - can be heard.
