Jazz at JAKI: Cologne Jazz Quartett

To explore the "Great American Song Book" and the "classical compositions of jazz" with love and intelligence in equal measure, to celebrate every beat with relish, to make the intricate harmonies of Billy Strayhorn, George Gershwin or Cole Porter the starting point of truly melodic improvisations: This is the concern of the Cologne Jazz Quartet.

As is well known, as part of the containment of the Corona Pandemic with its multiple lockdowns, politics has had to close the stages even for us jazz musicians. But there was also something positive to be gained from this fact: No concert tours and touring kept us from investing a lot of time in this new "working band" with great regularity since December 2020.
