Jazz at JAKI: Peter Protschka ‚Kindred Spirits plus one‘
"I'm interested in exploring history, so in addition to listening to a lot of jazz, I also like to listen to classical music and lead various crossover projects in which I play baroque trumpet, among other things. I like it, when you can hear the tradition in my music!", says the 1977 born Cologne trumpet player Peter Protschka about his interest in music, which inspires him to create his own.
For the quintet ‚Kindred Spirits plus one‘ Protschka brings like-minded musicians from three generations together on stage and united they will celebrate the joy of communication and explore unknown terrain in their improvisational excursions based on a background of groove and swing. Because "we want to spread the fire," says Proschka himself. The shared joy of playing and the eye-level exchange are therefore always the first priority here.
