Jlin, born Jerrilyn Patton, has quickly become one of America's most distinguished composers and one of the most influential women in electronic music. Jlin's distinctive sound builds on the Chicago footwork style and expands it to include diverse influences - from Igor Stravinsky and Philip Glass to Miles Davis and Eartha Kitt - that give her complex, percussion-driven work a polished polyrhythmic sound that is wholly her own.
