Born in Cologne as the daughter of two opera singers, JOSIN grows up in a household where music is the centre of attention. Nevertheless she decides to follow a childhood dream and studies medicine in Nice.
"I did my first year in med school, but something was missing. I think I never really saw what was there all that time - the music. Maybe because it was so normal to grow up in an artistic environment. At some point the inner voice became inevitable and I knew I had to follow it." She abandons her studies, moves to Hamburg and develops her musical identity autodidactically.
JOSIN's debut EP "Epilogue" showed itself with a dynamic mixture of electronic impulses, flat sounds and hauntingly poetic vocals. Somewhere between heart and mind the depth of their songs vibrates. In this seeming melancholy, the artist's productions repeatedly merge with the electronic, beat-heavy world. Their music is complex and honest at the same time - moving and fragile. There's just something fascinating about JOSIN, and her debut is an exciting start for a captivating new artist. Her long-awaited debut album will be released at the end of January 2019.
JOSIN has already toured live with RY X, BOY, Roosevelt and Sóley and has won over audiences and critics at festivals such as Maifeld Derby, Puls Open Air, Burning Eagle, Artlake and c/o Pop Festival.
