Lady Lamb & Tōth

Der VVK ist beendet. Es sind noch ausreichend Tickets an der Abendkasse erhältlich.

In April "Even In The Tremor", the third album by Aly Spaltro a.k.a. Lady Lamb, was released, and it marks a turning point in the
the musical world of the American singer songwriter. For the first time in her career, she found the courage to sing explicitly about herself: "I've never exposed myself like this before. But the whole record is about me dealing with myself, fighting my way to self-acceptance." Lady Lamb tells stories from her life, small miniatures, drawn with fine precision and full of carefully observed details. From the rebaptism of her parents in the paddling pool, which she attended as a five-year-old and understood nothing, and how her mother explained to her during a milkshake that all humans must die. The deep love that flows through her when she sees the picture of her mother as a girl on a children's bike, when she looks at her neighbours playing with their dogs, or when she carefully combs out her friend's matted hair after a shower. "I'm not convinced that we should exist at all." The little moments tell everything about Lady Lamb, much about the people who made her what she is today, some about her life and in her personal view quite a lot about her soul. It took over a year,
until Lady Lamb had finally found the musicians and their co-producers with whom she could implement her new attitude musically. With Erin Tonkon, who worked with Tony Visconti on David Bowie's "Blackstar" among others, she found a congenial partner who packed her arrangements into fine yet powerful sounds. "It took me years to get to this point, but I don't want to hide any longer," says Aly Spaltro, "I want to be as honest as possible. That's why people appreciate art: because they know the difference between bullshit and real vulnerability." This is the manifesto Lady Lambs relies on for fearless songwriting, both philosophically and emotionally. In February she comes to us to present her songs live.
