The music of Maustetytöt is an irresistible combination of catchy melodies and hyper-realistic lyrics that you can identify with - as long as you understand Finnish as a language and mentality.

The pop duo consisting of sisters Anna (guitar) and Kaisa (keyboard) Karjalainen is one of the best-known names in Finland's pop avant-garde. Their single "Tein kai lottorivini väärin", released in early 2019, became an instant classic and has now been streamed over 5 million times. Her debut album Kaikki tiet vievät Peltolaan was released in the fall of the same year and immediately reached number 1 in the official Finnish charts.

Emma Awards, gold records and hundreds of sold-out concerts have cemented Maustetytöt's position as one of the most popular bands in Finland. By recording together with the legendary band Agents, they gained a new, domestic audience. But it was their collaboration with cult director Aki Kaurismäki for his latest feature film "Falling Leaves" (2023) that opened international doors and ears for the sisters.
